Traffic Rules in India


 

There are some Indian traffic rules you need to follow while in India. Indian traffic rules go a long way to ensure traffic safety in India.  Following traffic rules in India are necessary for your own security and well-being

-> If you are driving or riding pillion on a two-wheeler in India, don’t forget to wear a helmet. If you don’t wear the helmet. then it may be harmful to you and you may have to pay the fine.

-> Use of horns is very common and in fact, customary in India.

-> In India traffics is moves on the left side. So, be extra cautious while crossing the road, especially if your country follows right side driving.

-> If your IDL has expired, then you submitting your expired license, along with a letter of introduction from your country’s Embassy and easily get a local driving license in India.

-> India trffic follows left hand side driving. So be careful and look both ways while crossing the road. Do not drive if you cannot adapt to the left hand side driving.

-> If you planned to stay in India is for a long time, you should have a driver’s license though it is not necessary that it should be IDL. It should be of a recognized Government. You can apply for a local license for driving a car or motorcycle.

There are various Mobile application Traffline, Google maps and Waze which provides traffic alerts and suggest best traffic-less route.
