Religions in India

India is the birth place of four of the world’s major religious traditions; namely Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism and Sikhism. Four main religion were born in India while the others came with invaders, travellers and missionaries from abroad. The Indian religions are so diverse and so widespread, that it is difficult to club India under one religion. The religious festivals are celebrated by all, as Indians, irrespective of caste and religion

Hinduism : It is the oldest religion in India. Hinduism is a religion with various gods and goddesses. According to Hinduism, three Lords rule the world.
Brahma: the creator;
Vishnu: the preserver
Shiva: the destroyer

In India 80% of the population follows the Hindu religion

Islam : After Hinduism the Islam second most dominant religion.  In India, almost 14% of the population follows the Islam religion. India’s Muslim population is the world’s third largest and the world’s largest Muslim-minority population

Christianity : Christianity is India’s third-largest religion, with approximately 24 million followers, constituting 4% of India’s population. Mainly is Christian is nations of Europe. Christianity arrived in India almost about the same period as it arrived in Europe, meaning about 2000 years ago.

Sikhism : Sikhism is one of the youngest world religion. In India About 2% of India’s population are Sikhs. This religion was established……………….
